What blue light actually is?
Blue light is part of the visible light spectrum and plays an important role in how we see and function.
Not all blue light is harmful.
In fact, certain wavelengths of blue light are essential for:
- •maintaining natural color perception
- •supporting alertness and daily rhythm
- •helping your visual system function properly
The issue is not blue light itself, but specific parts of the spectrum and how we are exposed to them.
The real problem: specific wavelengths
Research suggests that discomfort and visual stress are linked to a certain higher-energy wavelengths within the blue spectrum, particularly around and below ~450 nm.
This is where light tends to feel harsher and more straining for the eyes, especially during prolonged exposure to screens and artificial lighting.
Why blocking all blue light isn't ideal?
Many blue light glasses are designed to filter out a large portion, or even most of the blue spectrum.
While this may reduce certain types of discomfort, it can also:
- •distort color perception
- •make screens appear unnaturally warm or yellow
- •remove beneficial parts of the light spectrum
This is why some people feel that traditional blue light glasses don't provide a natural or comfortable viewing experience.
A different approach: light transformation
Instead of blocking light, a new approach focuses on transforming how light interacts with your eyes.
Hyperlight Optics lenses are infused with Fullerene C60, a unique carbon-based molecule known for its dynamic interaction with light.
At a microscopic level, Fullerene molecules are capable of extremely fast rotational movement, twisting at speeds of over 18 billion times per second.
This dynamic interaction allows incoming light to be continuously redistributed and softened.
Rather than eliminating parts of the spectrum, Hyperlight Optics lenses are designed to transform higher-energy, potentially harsh blue light into a more hyper-harmonized form of light, similar to the balanced light conditions found in sunrise and sunset.
Why this matters?
Instead of forcing your eyes to adapt to filtered or distorted light, Hyperlight Optics supports a smoother and more natural interaction with your environment.
By creating a more balanced and natural light environment, this process is designed to help you:
- •stay more focused and mentally clear
- •maintain steady energy levels throughout the day
- •feel more relaxed and visually at ease
- •support a more balanced overall mood
- •reduce the sense of visual fatigue in dynamic light conditions
